Your new role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Sustainability Officer to join a dynamic team to drive a diverse portfolio of sustainability initiatives, including:
• Energy efficiency, electrification, and carbon reduction
• Water conservation and resource recovery
• Waste management and sustainable transport
• Climate resilience and environmental compliance
As the Sustainability Officer, you will also lead governance frameworks, data management, and reporting across regulatory and voluntary sustainability schemes while facilitating internal communications on sustainability efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage sustainability initiatives across energy, carbon, waste, water, and transport.
• Integrate sustainability planning into all maintenance and project activities, ensuring compliance with environmental benchmarks
• Develop and implement sustainability data governance frameworks, managing reporting procedures and quality assurance
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to communicate sustainability goals effectively
• Prepare reports, briefings, and communications on environmental sustainability progress and achievements
What you'll need to succeed
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Sustainability, or relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated experience in sustainability capacity building within large-scale organisations
• Knowledge and experience of environmental sustainability issues, practices and solutions relevant to the building and property sectors is an advantage.
• Ability to manage complex projects and multiple work streams while adhering to strict deadlines
• Expertise in environmental sustainability strategies, governance systems, and procedural implementation
• Strong data analysis skills to interpret sustainability benchmarks and reporting metrics
What you'll get in return
This is a permanent full-time position offering a salary of between $121,508 - $137,032 p.a. + 17% super.
