Our state government client, based in Perth, is seeking a driven Assistant Management Accountant to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working a full-time government working week of 37.5 hours.
Your new role
As an Assistant Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other financial reports.
Maintain profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
Assist with financial audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately.
Liaise with internal teams to ensure financial data integrity.
Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
What you'll need to succeed
Willingness to undergo an international police check (if not an Australian Citizen)
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero).
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
