I am partnered with a Federal Government Agency across Sydney to recruit an APS4 Business Support Officer for a 12 month, full-time temporary assignment with the potential to extend.


Your new role

Seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to provide essential support in monitoring, financial sustainability, and risk management. This role involves performing analysis, providing insights, and supporting operational teams to drive performance. The successful candidate will also assist with various reports, initiatives, and projects, including the annual financial sustainability report and quarterly actuarial reports. As the APS5 Business Support Officer, you will be responsible for:


  • Manage mailboxes and respond to various enquiries from staff members, recruitment agencies, other branches, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee business support functions and operating procedures, including onboarding new starters and offboarding staff.
  • Assist with monthly financial accruals and manage the payment of invoices.
  • Participate in operations/HR projects and tasks, liaising with relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Perform other duties and projects as directed.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful as the APS4 Business Support Officer, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience working in a Business Support Officer / Administration position
  • Positive contemporary attitudes towards people with disabilities.
  • Understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities to maximise community participation.
  • Competency with IT systems and the ability to develop competency in applying assessment tools.
  • Adaptable communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within a team and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritise competing and urgent requests while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong decision-making skills within delegated limits.
