About the role

We are looking for a collaborative and talented Senior Advisor – Studies to support the delivery of the next important mine development and infrastructure studies for RTIO.

Reporting to the Manager Studies, you will:

  • Lead, plan and coordinate a selection of important mine development, infrastructure and/or closure studies, varying in range of complexity
  • Integrate contributions from our company experts to optimise study outcomes
  • Identify critical study issues and opportunities and develop appropriate solutions
  • Develop and support project business cases in line with the business strategy
  • Identify and manage key internal and external stakeholders to generate good outcomes
  • Produce reports and present outcomes while getting exposure to a variety of business partners and leaders.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to meet study objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.

What you’ll bring

A desire to make real impact to the future success of Rio Tinto Iron Ore and a genuine commitment to safety, wellness, environment, heritage and community.

An understanding of strategic drivers for a study and a background in either Engineering, Technical, Finance, Business, Operational Readiness or similar. A tertiary degree in one of these foundational disciplines is essential.

Experience in successfully leading a complex piece of work requiring the coordination of a large, multi-disciplinary team, exercising of communication and influencing skills for a wide range of stakeholders. 

Experience with compiling reports with multiple inputs, an ability to manage large budgets along with a good understanding of financial modelling.

This role will be offered on 5 days on, 2 days off roster in our Central Park based office, within the Perth CBD hub.
