Your new company
Our client is seeking a dynamic, friendly medical administrator to work in their busy private health practice. This position is a part-time position that will see you working 3 days per week; however, additional hours may be required.
Your new role
In your new role as medical administrator, you will be reporting to the Practice Manager while working alongside other medical receptionists. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
Assisting in general administration / reception duties
Typing of reports and medical correspondence
Entering patient data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Maintaining and updating patient records
Processing patient billing and receipting
Scheduling patient appointments
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this position, you will have:
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on exceptional customer service
Sound level of skill in office administration procedures and practices
Experience of working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Attention to detail and high literacy skills
Polite and courteous phone manner
Previous experience in a medical or health environment is essential.
A working knowledge of medical billing procedures and the ability to process Medicare and other payments is desirable.
